I live in Chicago and I am building a new deck. I will be using a product that contains copper naphthenate: Coppercoat Green Wood Preservative on the framing of the deck.
I plan on using the Coppercoat Green Wood Preservative on the Underside of the decking boards and Defy Wood Stain on the Top of the boards.
If I do this, will the Coppercoat interfere with the absorption of the Defy Stain?
Or should I use the Defy Wood Stain on both the Top and Underside of the Decking boards for best protection from mildew and moisture?
    Thank You!

Larry, DEFY Wood Stains need to be applied to bare wood surfaces to work correctly. If you use the preservative on the undersides only, that shouldn’t cause a problem.
